Alba is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Antrim County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 295. It is situated on U.S. Highway 131 just north of Mancelona. Half of the community is in Star Township, and half is in Chestonia Township. In the 1900s, it was the site of the Detroit and Charlevoix and Grand Rapids and Indiana railroad junction. Alba was established in 1876

North Country National Scenic Trail [Hiking Trail], 229 E Main Street, Lowell, MI 49331, Phone: (616) 897-5987. The North Country National Scenic Trail is a premier footpath that stretches for about 4,400 miles linking communities, forests, and prairies across seven northern states. Already, more than 1,700 miles have been certified off-road. Additional miles follow shared paths, and some road walks yet remain. It will be the longest off-road hiking trail in the United States. Many of the trails are used for cross-country skiing as well. Almost 1500 miles of this national trail are located in the state of Michigan.

Phone number indicated above is for the Gaylord Management Unit. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. Enjoy the quiet, rustic setting along the Jordan River, Michigan's first designated Wild and Scenic River. Pinney Bridge offers 15 tent sites accessible by hiking or canoe only. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Gaylord (13 miles East) Mancelona (14 miles SW) and East Jordan (17 miles NW).

Trail Length: 3.80 (Miles). 9 miles N of Alba Via US-131 & M-32. 2.8 (8k) mile hike, bike trail. A novice to intermediate trail. Trail is not groomed, but is used often and will normally have tracks. Meanders along a swamp edge with frequent deer sightings.
