Archery ranges are places where people can safely and legally shoot arrows out of compound bows, crossbows, longbows, and recurve bows. Archery ranges are necessary because people cannot often legally or safely shoot arrows on their own property. Many archery ranges offer archer lessons. Bowhunters often come to archery ranges to practice for the season and competition archers often go to archery ranges to practice for competitions. Some archery ranges are run by clubs and only club members or guests of club members can shoot at them. Many archery ranges are run in conjunction with shooting ranges where people can safely and legally fire their guns. Some archery ranges are open to the general public. Many archery ranges host archery competitions.
