De Tour Village overlooks the DeTour Passage in the St. Marys River that leads from Lake Superior and Sault Ste. Marie empties into Lake Huron. De Tour has been a fishing community since the French-Canadian times. Today tourism and retirees sustain the pleasant, unassuming place. It is a popular destination for duck and goose hunters. Boater used De Tour to access   North Channel, that long, protected body of water ending at Georgian Bay.

De Tour Reef Light Station, De TouVillage, Michigan.  Built in 1931, the Detour Reef Light is fully operational. Light stands 74 ft high and has an attached two-story house. Directions: I-75 to 134 East to Detour Village, south of village to Bennet Point, lighthouse is .5 mile off shore.

Martin Reef Light, De Tour Village, Michigan.   5 miles from the M-134 and M-48 intersection, approximately 15  miles west of Detour Village. Offshore 8.5 miles south of  Port Dolomite in Lake Huron, Michigan.

Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Location 5 miles West of DeTour via M-134. Accessible by water.  Trailhead for the North Country Trail.
