Northern Michigan has many unique things for riders to see and do while riding.  Michigan’s Shore-to-Shore Trails offers outstanding scenic beauty as it winds through the Huron and Manistee National Forests.  The Upper Peninsula’s Bay de Noc - Grand Island Trail follows and old Chippewa Indian trade route.  Pine Marten Run Trail is a 26 mile system horse-backing riding trails located in the Ironjaw Semi-Primitive Area northwest of Manistique in Schoolcraft County

Bay de Noc-Grand Island Trail [Equestrian Riding Trails], Trailhead is two miles east of Rapid River on County Road 509, Rapid River, MI 49878, Phone: (906) 474-6442. The Bay de Noc - Grand Island Trail begins from a point 2 miles east of the town of Rapid River and one mile north of U.S. Highway 2 and extends northward for approximately 40 miles terminating at its intersection with Highway M-94 at Ackerman Lake.  Map

Musketawa Trail [Multi-Use Trail], PO Box 5082, North Muskegon, MI 49445, Phone: (231) 744-8133. The Musketawa Trail is a 25 mile multi-use recreation trail between Marne and Muskegon, Michigan. It passes through farmlands and wetlands, over creeks, and through villages. The trail is a four season adventure for the outdoor enthusiast, living healthy and having fun. It provides a safe and natural environment for individual, family, and organizational use. This trail is enjoyed by bikers, snowmobilers, horseback riders, rollerbladers, cross country skiers, wheelchair travelers, hikers and nature lovers.  Map
