Garden is a small farming and fishing village on the way to Fayette.  Big Bill Bonifas, the wealthy Escanaba lumberman, got his start in Garden.  A few remaining commercial fishermen take large fall catches of whitefish and lake trout, which can be purchased retail.

This well-preserved museum village recalls another time when it was a noisy, dirty company town with an immigrant population that shared daily hardships, joys and sorrows. Three miles of shoreline on Big Bay De Noc. Park amenities include: sixty-one semi-modern campsites, boat camping, fully furnished, cottage that sleeps up to 10 people, picnicking, beach, playground, fishing, and boat launch. Five miles of hiking trails overlooking town from limestone cliffs. Groomed for cross-country skiing, perfect for the beginner.

Threefold Vine Winery [Winery], 5856 NN Road, Garden, MI 49835, Phone: (906) 644-7089. Wine made from grapes grown in the Upper Peninsula. Threefold Vine is a Garden Peninsula winery doing just that. The winery and vineyard are located at the Green Family Farm just south of Garden, Michigan in the south central Upper Peninsula. The Threefold Vine Winery is now open for tours in 2007. Stop by and see how our wine is produced from the grapes growing in the vineyard, to harvesting, and processing the wine depending on the time of the year you visit. Our Tasting Room is open so you can sample our exciting new wines grown in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wine will also be available for purchase.
