The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are our biggest attraction, drawing in over a million visitors per year. Our dunes are unique to the state due to their versatility and location. Situated between Lake Michigan and Silver Lake, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes satisfy every interest. Take the family on a dune tour or rent your own vehicle. Take on the challenge of walking these mountains of sand, or simply enjoy a lazy day on the beach. The possibilities are endless!
Of course, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes is not the area's only offering. For the thrill seeker in the family, there's an opportunity to fly, race go-karts, take in a drag race, or rent a jet-ski. For those who like to relax, shopping for antiques and souvenirs, taking in a Friday night concert, golfing, or fishing may be up their alley. The history buff will find much to explore in the Hart Historic District and Little Sable Point Lighthouse. And the nature lover will not be able to resist the horseback riding, canoeing, biking on the rail trail, or the various parks and trails found throughout the area. The food lover will delight in the farm markets and the local produce. Finally, everyone with an appetite will love The National Asparagus Festival and Apple & BBQ Cook-Off Festival!
No matter what, your family is important. Your time with family is important. The Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area offers something fun for you and your family. To give them (and you) everything and more, Think Dunes.com!

Little Sable Point Lighthouse [Lighthouse], Silver Lake Road, Silver Lake State Park, Mears, MI 49436, Phone: (231) 873-3083, Located in Oceana County, the Little Sable Point Lighthouse was built in 1874 and once looked very similar to the Big Sable Point Lighthouse near Ludington. Both towers stood 107 ft tall, both were constructed of brick, and both had a third-order Fresnel lens. The Big Sable Point tower deteriorated and eventually was covered with steel plates, but the tower at Little Sable Point still looks much as it did 120 years ago. Open to the public Wed to Sat from 10am to 5pm with a small admission fee.
